[김준호 기자 = 정선군] 정선군(최승준 군수)은 버스 완전공연제 성공 정착을 위한 와와버스 운영으로 지역 주민들의 버스 이용률이 지난해 대비 2022년 7월기준 19.1%가 증가했다고 밝혔다.

군은 군민중심 맞춤형 교통비스 제공에 앞장서고 있으며, 군민들이 보다 편안하게 대중교통을 이용할 수 있도록 친환경 저상전기버스 운행 및 교통편의 시설을 확대해 나갈 계획이다.

또한 군은 보편적 교통복지 실현을 위해 승차장 스마트시스템을 대중교통 이용객이 가장 많은 정선농협과 정선신협 승차장 2개소에 스마트시스템을 구축해 시범 운영하고 있으며, 향후 성과분석 후 불편 사항을 개선해 관내 28개소 승차장에 스마트시스템을 구축해 나갈 계획이다.

정선군민 75세이상 어르신 와와 버스카드 목걸이를 제작해 보급했으며, 교통약자와 버스 미운행구간 마을 주민들을 위한 희망택시 운영, 특별교통수단으로 장애인 콜택시 운영 등을 운영하고 있다.

한편 완전 공영제 와와 버스는 관내 주민 65세 이상 어르신, 초·중·고학생, 국가유공자, 기초생활수급자, 장애인, 등은 무료로 시내버스를 이용할 수 있으며, 관외 주민과 관광객들은 1,000원의 이용금으로 시내버스 이용할 수 있다.
