[김택곤 기자=정선군] 정선군(군수 최승준)은 이산화탄소 및 미세먼지 배출량 감소를 통한 쾌적한 대중교통 이용 환경 조성과 저상버스의 낮은 출입구 높이로 교통약자 탑승이 용이한 대중교통 이용 환경 개선에 나서 주목을 받고있다.
군은, 지난 2021년부터 친환경 저상 와와버스를 도입해 운영하고 있으며, 관내 어르신, 장애인, 임산부 등 교통약자와 군민들의 승하차 편리함을 위해 올해 5대의 친환경 저상 전기버스를 확대 운영할 계획이다.
한편, 정선군은 국내 내륙지역 최초로 버스 완전공영제 시행이 성공적으로 자리잡고 있는 가운데, 관내 주민 65세 이상 어르신, 초·중·고학생, 국가유공자, 기초생활수급자, 장애인, 등은 무료로 시내버스를 이용할 수 있으며, 관외 주민과 관광객들은 1,000원의 이용금으로 와와버스 이용할 수 있다.
아울러, 버스공영제의 고도화를 위해 지방소멸대응기금 45억 원을 포함해 오는 2026년까지 91억 원의 사업비를 투자하여 스마트승강장 10동 등 승강장 신설･정비에 25억원, 친환경 저상 전기버스 13대 추가 도입에 47억원, 전기버스 충전소 6개소 설치에 19억원을 각각 투입할 계획이다.
군은 와와버스 이용객들의 편의 제공을 위해 승차장 스마트시스템을 이용객이 가장 많은 정선농협과 정선신협 승차장 2개소에 구축·운영하고 있으며,
성과분석 후 대중교통 이용객들의 불편사항을 개선해 관내 28개소 승차장에 대하여 공기청정기, 냉·난방시스템, 공공 와이파이, 휴대폰 유·무선충전기, 냉·온 의자, 버스정보안내기(BIT), CCTV 원격제어 등 각종 기술을 접목한 최첨단 쉼터 형 스마트시스템을 확대 추진해 나갈 계획이다.
