[남상훈 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 4월 20일 오후 2시 원주시가 주최하고 원주시사회복지협의회 주관하는 ‘원주역 천사기부계단’ 준공식이 원주역 광장에서 열린다고 밝혔다.

행사는 1부 기념식(기금전달식, 감사패 전달 등)과 2부 본행사(테이프 커팅식, 계단 오르기 시연 등) 순으로 진행되며, 원주역 천사기부계단은 국민건강보험공단이 설치비 5천만 원을 지원하고 한국철도공사 원주관리역이 설치장소를 무상 제공해 올해 3월 초 착공됐으며, 상·하행선 각 길이 20.9m, 높이 6.6m, 42개 계단 규모로 완공됐다고 전했다.

천사기부계단은 원주역을 이용하는 시민과 방문객에게 시민서로돕기 천사운동을 널리 알리고 나눔문화를 확산하기 위해 원주시, 국민건강보험공단, 한국철도공사 원주관리역, 원주시사회복지협의회 등 4개 기관이 작년 12월 협약을 맺고 추진해 온 사업이며, 천사기부계단을 오르면 1인당 10원씩 적립되며, 연간 최대 1,000만 원까지 후원금이 적립된다고 했다.

조종용 원주시장 권한대행은 “천사기부계단 설치에 협력해주신 기관 관계자분들에게 깊은 감사를 드린다.”라며, “건강도 챙기고 기부도 하고, 에너지 절약까지 할 수 있는 1석 3조 효과의 천사기부계단을 많이 이용해주시길 바란다.”라고 말했다.
