회원들은 3명씩 1개조를 편성하여 지난 8월초부터 매주 1회 이상 고성, 삼회, 대성, 시가지 등 관내 전역을 대상으로 방역 활동을 펼치고 있으며, 날이 더워지면서 기승을 부리는 파리, 모기 등 각종 해충을 퇴치하여 주민들의 큰 호응을 얻고 있다고 했다.

이중진 협의회장은 “코로나19의 지역사회 확산을 차단하고 주민들이 안심하고 건강하게 일상생활 할 수 있도록 관내 집중 방역에 최선을 다하겠다.”라고 밝혔다. 

안동석 면장은 “관내 감염병 예방을 위해 최선을 다하는 새마을지도자 회원들에게 항상 감사드리며, 이웃을 위한 봉사활동에 적극 힘을 보태겠다.”고 말했다.

청평면 새마을지도자협의회 방역활동은 9월 중순까지 실시할 계획이라고 전했다.
