[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 28일 한국동서발전(주) 동해발전본부는 지난 25일 최근 동해시에 발생한 산불로 인해 피해를 입은 농가 2곳에 대해 피해복구 봉사활동을 펼쳤다고 밝혔다.

이날 봉사활동은 동해발전본부 노사와 상주 협력회사(수산인더스트리, 한전산업개발, 한전KPS) 직원들이 함께 참여하여 산불로 소실된 농막, 비닐하우스 및 타다 남은 나무를 제거하고 주변 쓰레기를 정리하는 등 농사철을 앞두고 산불피해를 입은 농가가 하루라도 빨리 농사를 다시 시작할 수 있도록 복구작업을 지원했다고 했다.

동해발전본부 관계자는 “갑작스러운 화마로 큰 피해를 입은 동해주민에게 작은 손길이나마 도움을 주고 싶었다”며, “이번 산불의 아픔에서 하루 빠리 회복할 수 있기를 바란다”고 말했다

한편 동서발전은 지난 8일 전력 그룹사와 공동으로 동해안 산불 피해복구에 10억원을 기부했고, 동해시 산불 초기에는 이재민과 산불진화 관계자 및 자원봉사자들을 위한 지원 물품을 전달한 바 있다고 전했다.
