이번에 선정된 생태녹색 관광분야에서는 습지보호지역으로 지정된 “경포 가시연습지”일원을 대상으로 하여 생태자원을 활용한 체험관광 프로그램을 개발하게 되며, 코리아둘레길 쉼터 사업은 동해안 지역의 해파랑길 노선에 대한 지역 관광정보 제공, 숙박 및 휴식 예약 가능, 음료 판매 및 물품 보관․세탁 지원 등 쉼터를 운영함으로써 친화적 걷기여행 환경을 조성 할 계획이라고 했다.

또한 지역특화 공모사업으로 작년에 이어 해양레저활성화 사업이 2년 연속 선정되어 160백만 원을 지원받게 됨으로써 사근진 해중공원을 중심으로 한 스킨스쿠버 관광 활성화 프로그램 개발을 통해 강릉에서만 체험할 수 있는 특화된 다양한 관광콘텐츠 개발에 힘쓸 것으로 보인다고 했다.

강릉시 관계자는“이번 공모사업 선정을 통해 국내외 관광객들이 강릉에서 즐길 수 있는 매력 있는 지역특화 관광콘텐츠 개발을 통해 지역관광 만족도 제고 및 지역관광 활성화에 기여할 것”이라고 말했다.
