[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 20일 평창에서는 별세한 평창읍 주민 故이영린 어르신이 마지막 순간까지 평창장학회에 백만 원을 기탁하며 나눔을 실천해 감동을 주고 있다고 밝혔다.

고인의 아들인 이병주씨는 “아버지께서 살아생전 평창장학회에 더 기부하고 싶다는 말씀을 하셨기에 올해에도 어김없이 평창장학회에 기탁하게 되었다.”고 전했다.

이영린 씨는 “젊은 시절 불의의 사고를 당하여 3남 1녀를 어렵게 양육하던 중 읍사무소의 도움을 받았던 것이 자녀들을 훌륭히 키우는 데 큰 힘이 되었다.”며, “이에 대한 감사한 마음을 보답하며 살고 싶다.”며 생전 기탁의 뜻을 밝힌 바 있다.

평창장학회 관계자에 따르면 고인은 지난 2009년 1,900 만 원 기탁을 시작으로 2020년까지 총 12회에 걸쳐 3,600 만 원을 평창장학회에 기탁하며 나눔을 실천하였고, 지역사회를 위한 봉사에 솔선수범한 공로를 인정받아 2018년에는 ‘강원도 선행도민대상’을 수상한 바 있다고 했다.
