[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 11월 18일 양주로타리클럽은 한국외식과학고등학교와 함께 어려운 이웃에 연탄을 전달하는 ‘사랑의 연탄 나눔’ 활동을 가졌다고 밝혔다.

이날 행사에는 양주로타리클럽 회원, 교직원과 학생 등 20명이 참여하여 한국외식과학고등학교가 소재한 남면에 거주하는 취약계층 2가구에 연탄 1,000장을 직접 배달했다고 했다.

윤여흥 회장은 “이번 연탄 나눔으로 우리 주변 어려운 이웃이 추운 겨울을 따뜻하게 나는 데 도움이 됐으면 한다”며 “앞으로도 사회공헌활동으로 이웃사랑을 실천하겠다”고 전했다.

강석원 남면장은 “따뜻한 사랑 나눔을 실천하며 솔선수범해준 양주로타리클럽과 한국외식과학고등학교에 감사드린다”며 “어려운 이웃들이 따뜻한 연말을 보낼 수 있도록 다양한 지원사업을 추진해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
