[김현우 기자 = 경기북부] 지난 1일 동두천시는 최용덕 시장이 사랑의열매 기부프로그램 중 100만원 이상 개인기부자가 가입하는 나눔리더에 가입하며‘우리 경기북부 사회백신 나눔캠페인’에 힘을 보탰다고 전했다. 

이번 가입은 동두천시 공무원 재직시절이었던 2003년 3월부터 지금까지 19년째 이어온 정기기부와 지난해 코로나19로 인해 어려움을 겪는 시민들을 위해 기부한 300만원이 모여서 맺어진 결실이라고 했다.

평소에도 꾸준하게 나눔을 실천하고 있는 최 시장은“코로나19로 힘든 시기에 어려움을 겪고 있는 취약계층에게 조금이나마 힘이 돼 줄 수 있어 기쁘게 생각한다”며 “나눔리더 가입으로 동두천 시민들에게 선한 영향을 끼쳐 나눔문화가 더욱 활성화되길 바란다”고 소감을 밝혔다. 

강주현 경기북부 사랑의열매 본부장은“지역사회 영향력이 큰 최용덕 시장님의 나눔리더 가입으로 우리경기북부 사회백신 캠페인이 더욱 활성화 될 것으로 기대된다”며 감사인사를 전했다.
