[장선희 기자 = 경기북부] 지난 28일 동두천시 상패동 새마을부녀회는 상패동 행정복지센터에서 관내 독거노인 및 취약계층 35가구에 열무김치를 전달하는 행사를 진행했다고 밝혔다. 

이날 부녀회 회원들은 정성스럽게 열무김치를 만들고, 한 가구에 약 2kg씩 직접 방문하여 전달했다고 말했다.

정종희 부녀회장은 “열무에는 사포닌이 많아 건강에 좋으니, 아무쪼록 어르신들께서 전해드린 밑반찬을 맛있게 드시고, 건강하시기만 바란다”는 마음을 전했다. 

한영수 상패동장은 “도움이 필요한 취약계층을 위하여 따뜻한 마음을 나누어 주시는 새마을부녀회 회원들에게 감사드리며, 앞으로도 상패동 지역사회를 위해 적극적인 활동을 부탁드린다”고 감사를 표했다. 

상패동 새마을부녀회는 이번 행사 외에도 매달 1회 사랑의 밑반찬 나눔, 관내 방역활동 등 다양한 봉사활동을 통해 지역상생에 이바지하고 있다고 말했다.
