[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 5월 6일, 제8회 전국동시지방선거의 열기가 서서히 달아오르는 가운데 의정부시 공무원노동조합측에서는 배영철, 이정후 부위원장이 더불어민주당 김원기 시장 후보 캠프를 방문해 정책질의서와 공직사회 개혁에 대한 의견 질의서를 직접 전달했다고 밝혔다. 

노조 측은 김원기 후보 측에 투명한 공직사회 실현과 의정부시 정의, 후보자 견해와 마인드를 알고자 10개 항의 정책 질의 항목을 제시한다는 설명과 함께 해당 질의 내용에 대해서는 오는 5월 20일까지 답변을 요청했다고 전했다. 

이에 대해 더불어민주당 김원기 의정부시장 후보는 감사의 뜻을 전하며 곧 맞이하게 될 50만 인구의 의정부시가 새 시대를 준비함에 있어 정책의 중요성과 공직사회의 효율성 및 투명성, 공직자들에 대한 처우개선 등의 중요성을 인식한다고 밝혔다. 

김원기 후보는 10개항의 정책 질의에 대해서는 공약과 정책기획에 따라 성실히 답할 것을 약속하며 "공직사회 개혁에 대해서는 김 후보 자신이 당선된다면 기본원칙으로 '공정과 공평한 인사정책', '상명하복의 명령체계가 아닌 행정력에 기반 한 협의적 협력적 업무체계 확립', '공무원의 복리후생과 사기 진작을 위한 근무환경의 제도 개선'을 바탕으로 공직사회 전반에 대한 개혁을 주도 하겠다"고 약속했다. 

또한, 김원기 후보는 시장과 공직자들은 시민의 공복으로 시민들의 민의를 잘 살피고 행정에 반영하는 일에 함께 ‘동행’하는 동반자로 건강한 공직사회에서 질 높은 행정력과 민원 서비스를 발휘할 수 있는 만큼 실무 공직자들을 받들어 시민들이 행복하고 공직사회가 행복한 ‘함께 동행 하는 시장’이 되기 위해 꼭 당선되어 만나겠다고 공무원노동조합에 다짐하기도 했다고 밝혔다.
