[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 더불어민주당 김원기 의정부시장 후보는 지난 5월 11일 수요일 오후 2시, 의정부시평생학습원 3층 대강당에서 의정부시의 사회복지관계자들과 정책간담회를 열고 상호 소통의 시간을 가졌다고 전했다.

의정부시사회복지사협회와 의정부시사회복지협의회가 주최한 사회복지 정책간담회에는 의정부시사회복지사협회 박춘섭 회장과 의정부시사회복지협의회 윤연희 회장을 비롯하여 의정부시 사회복지사 100여명이 참석하였다고 했다.

이 자리에서 김원기 후보는 사회복지시설장 및 사회복지사들로부터 여러 가지 현장의 어려움과 열악한 사회복지사들의 처우와 관련한 건의를 청취하고 비정규직 사회복지사의 고용, 아동복지시설 종사자의 처우개선, 종합사회복지관 증설, 장애인 이동권 확보, 편의시설 활성화 등에 대해 의견을 나누었다고 전했다.

한편, 김원기 후보는 의정부시사회복지사들의 복지 클러스터 구축을 위해 사회복지커뮤니티센터 건립을 추진할 것을 약속했다고 했다. 

복지커뮤니티센터 의정부시 1만여 사회복지사들의 유기적인 협조체계의 구축을 통해 사회복지사들의 교육과 훈련을 제공하는 복지센터 기능, 사회복지회관 기능, 분산되어 있는 사회복지단체를 한 곳으로 모아 복지 클러스터를 형성할 수 있을 것으로 보인다고 전했다.
