[남상훈 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 김동연 더불어민주당 경기도지사 후보의 공식 캐릭터 ‘똑부’가 인터넷을 중심으로 빠르게 확산되면서 뜨거운 관심을 불러 모으고 있다고 밝혔다.

‘똑똑한 부엉이’라는 뜻의 ‘똑부’는 지지자들이 붙인 후보의 별명을 열성 지지자들이 캐릭터로 직접 제작해 김 후보에게 선물하면서 탄생했다고 했다. 

후보 SNS와 각종 인터넷 커뮤니티에는 ‘똑부’에 똑똑하고 일 잘하는 이미지와 부엉이를 닮은 친근한 외모 등 김 후보의 특징이 잘 반영됐다는 호평이 이어지고 있다고 전했다.

김동연 후보는 지난달 29일 인스타그램, 트위터 등 자신의 SNS를 통해 ‘제가 부엉이를 닮았나요?’라는 제목의 글과 함께 캐릭터 ‘똑부’를 전격 공개했다고 했다.

김동연 캠프 관계자는 “후보의 특징이 잘 반영된 똑부 캐릭터가 널리 알려지면서 똑똑하고 일 잘하는 김 후보의 이미지를 부각하는데 큰 도움이 되고 있다”라며 “지지자와의 스킨십 확대 방안으로 유권자들이 단순한 콘텐츠 소비자가 아닌 생산자로 참여해 직접 의견을 개진하고 제작에 참여하도록 하는 ‘똑부슈머 프로젝트’를 진행해 나갈 계획”이라고 말했다.
