[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 1일, 동두천시 중앙동 지역사회보장협의체는 고위험 독거노인의 주거환경 개선을 위해 직접 청소를 실시했다고 밝혔다. 

대상자는 고령의 독거노인으로 거동이 불편하여 가정 내 물건 정리와 청소를 전혀 하지 못하며 오랜 기간 물건을 쌓아두고 있었고, 점점 따뜻해지는 날씨로 악취와 각종 벌레가 건강까지 위협하고 있어 지역사회보장협의체 위원들이 협력하여 대청소를 실시, 쾌적한 주거 환경을 조성하였으며, 특히 중앙동의 건강취약계층 방역지원 업무협약을 체결했던 ㈜C&S에서 무료로 해충방제 서비스를 지원해주어 의미를 더했다고 전했다. 

지역사회보장협의체 경규환 위원장은 “어르신을 위해 구슬땀을 흘려주신 위원님들께 감사드리며, 앞으로도 건강하고 쾌적한 지역사회를 구축하기 위해 기쁘게 봉사하겠다”고 전했다.

이춘우 동장은 “귀한 시간을 내주신 위원님들 덕분에 관내 취약 어르신의 환경이 개선되었다. 위원님들의 관심으로 소외된 이웃들의 위기가 적극 해소되기에 앞으로도 지속적인 관심을 부탁드린다”고 밝혔다.
