[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 오는 3월 26일 강원도는 춘천 하중도 일원에서 ‘레고랜드 테마파크 및 하중도 관광지 기반시설 준공 기념행사’를 개최한다고 밝혔다.

춘천 레고랜드는 하중도 28만㎡ 부지에 7개의 클러스터(구역)와 40개 이상의 놀이기구, 수많은 레고 브릭으로 만들어진 1만5,000개의 레고 모델들이 전시되는 글로벌 테마파크로 오는 5월 5일 어린이날을 맞아 정식으로 개장한다고 전했다.

이번 행사는 ‘레고랜드 테마 파크’의 개장이 임박했음을 전 국민에게 알리고 축하하기 위해 마련된 행사로 온ㆍ오프라인으로 동시에 진행된다고 했다.

국내 최초의 글로벌 테마파크인 만큼, 콜린크룩스 영국대사와 아이너 옌센 덴마크대사를 비롯해 영국 멀린 엔터테인먼트 그룹의 닉 바니 회장과 존 야콥슨 총괄사장 등 국내외 인사가 대거 참석한다고 했다. 

이번 행사는 오후 3시부터 8시까지 총 2부로 진행되는데 1부는 레고랜드 체험·이벤트, 2부는 ‘어린이 수도’ 선포식과 각종 축하공연, 미디어 쇼 등 다채로운 프로그램으로 꾸며진다고 했다. 

먼저 1부에서는 다문화가족 등 도민 100명과 주요 내빈을 레고랜드 테마파크로 초청, 라이드 시설과 체험시설을 최초로 공개 체험할 수 있는 기회를 제공하며, 2부에서는 레고랜드 조성을 위한 그동안의 여정이 담긴 ‘감동 스토리’를 다양한 연출과 공연 형식으로 3막에 걸쳐 흥미롭게 풀어낸다고 했다. 

(제1막_출항 퍼포먼스) 레고랜드 유치의 어려움에서부터 현재까지의 여정을 선박 출항으로 형상화한 세레머니 형식으로 진행된다고 했다. 

(제2막_어린이 수도 선포식) 아름다운 춘천이 레고랜드의 조성과 함께  ‘호반의 도시’에서 ‘어린이 수도’로 새롭게 도약하면서 강원도의 새로운 도시 브랜드로 발전시켜나간다는 의미의 퍼포먼스를 선보인다고 했다.

최문순 강원도지사는 “레고랜드 개장이 바로 우리 눈 앞에 다가온 만큼, 최대한 많은 분들이 편안하게 즐기고 갈 수 있도록 만반의 준비를 하고 있다”면서, “강원도 관광은 이제껏 겪어보지 못한  새로운 지평을 열게 될 것”이라고 밝혔다. 

이번 행사는 강원도와 춘천시, 레고랜드 코리아 리조트(LLKR), 강원중도개발공사(GJC)가 공동으로 개최하며 코로나 상황으로 참여인원이 제한되어 유-튜브 강원도 채널을 통해 실시간으로 관람할 수 있다고 전했다.
