[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 오는 3월 2일부터 4일까지 북부지방산림청은 최근 산림청 소관 국유림 내에서 발생하고 있는 불법임산물채취 등 산림 내 위법행위를 근절하기 위하여 집중 단속을 실시할 계획이라고 밝혔다.

이번 집중 단속은 산림특별사법경찰을 포함한 단속반을 편성하여 관내 산림피해 취약지역에 집중배치하여 불법고로쇠수액 채취, 산나물 등 불법임산물채취, 불법산지전용 등 산림 내에서 일어나는 불법행위를 단속할 예정이라고 했다.

산림소유자 동의 없이 임산물을 불법으로 채취하는 행위는 「산림자원의 조성 및 관리에 관한 법률」제73조제1항에 따라 5년 이하의 징역 또는 5천만 원 이하의 벌금형으로 중한 범죄이라고 했다. 

북부지방산림청은 전년도 산림 내 불법행위에 대하여 총 137건을 검찰에 송치했으며, 이 중 32건(23.4%)을 불법임산물채취 건으로 입건한 바 있다고 전했다.

최수천 북부지방산림청장은 “무허가 입산을 하여 산주(山主)의 동의없이 임산물을 채취하는 것은 명백한 불법행위이자 처벌 대상이므로, 각별한 관심과 주의가 필요하다”고 말했다.
