[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 오는 6일 포천시는 ‘2022년 상반기 체납차량 일제단속의 날’을 지정해 지방세와 차량 관련 과태료 체납차량에 대한 집중 단속을 실시한다고 밝혔다.

이번 체납차량 일제단속은 체납액을 일소하고 조세정의를 실현하고자 자동차세 및 차량 관련 과태료 체납차량의 자동차번호판을 영치한다고 했다.

자동차세 3회 이상 체납하거나 차량 관련 과태료 30만 원 이상 체납한 차량을 대상으로 자동차번호판 영치를 실시하며, 자동차세 2회 및 과태료 30만 원 이하의 체납차량에 대해서는 영치 예고장을 부착해 체납자가 스스로 납부할 수 있도록 안내할 예정이라고 했다.

단, 코로나19로 인해 영업용 차량은 5회 이상 체납차량에 한해 단속하며, 영치된 번호판은 시청 세원관리과를 찾아 체납액 납부 후 반환받을 수 있고, 차량 번호판 없이 운행할 경우 관련 법령에 따라 최고 300만 원까지 과태료가 부과될 수 있다고 전했다.

양명석 세원관리과장은 “지방세 및 차량 과태료 체납차량 일제 단속에 시민들의 적극적인 협조를 부탁드린다.”며 “공정하고 정의로운 조세 행정을 위해 상습 체납 차량은 강제 견인을 통한 공매처분 등 체납처분 절차를 진행해 나가겠다.”고 말했다.

한편, 지난해 포천시는 체납차량 영치단속을 통하여 825대(예고포함)를 단속, 5억 4,500만 원을 징수했다고 전했다.
