[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 양양 낙산사가 지역사회를 위해 꾸준한 기부를 실천하며 자비 나눔을 베풀고 있다고 전했다.

20일 낙산사는 낙산사 주지인 금곡스님이 양양군을 방문해 김진하 군수에게 코로나19로 어려운 지역사회와 이웃들을 위해 써달라며 이웃돕기 성금 2천만 원을 기탁한다고 밝혔다. 

낙산사는 코로나19의 어려움 속에서도 이웃돕기성금 8천만 원을 기부하며, 지역의 어려운 이웃들에게 희망을 전하고 있다고 전했다. 

또한 낙산사와 무산복지재단은 지난 4일 ‘2021년 따뜻한 겨울나기’ 발대식을 갖고, 12월 31일까지 150여 자원봉사자들을 투입돼 양양군 6개 읍면지역의 저소득 259세대 중 184세대에 연탄 각 200장씩 총 3만6800장과 식품꾸러미 184박스, 쌀 1840kg을 전달한다고 했다.

이와 함께 저소득 난방가구 72세대에는 난방유 각 153리터, 식품꾸러미 72박스, 쌀 720kg을 지원한다. 또 따뜻한 겨울나기를 위해 지역 내 3가구에 대해 노후 된 연탄보일러 교체를 지원한다고 했다.

한편, 낙산사와 무산복지재단은 노인복지관과 지역아동센터, 요양원 등 다양한 복지시설을 운영하며 지역사회 복지증진에 크게 기여하고 있다고 했다. 

2012년부터 시작한 연탄 나눔을 꾸준히 실천하고 있으며, 설날과 추석 경로잔치, 어린이와 청소년 장학금 수여 및 문화체험캠프 운영 등 다양한 복지사업을 펼치고 있다고 했다. 

금곡스님은 “지역의 모든 분들이 소외받는 이가 없도록 다양한 복지사업을 꾸준히 이어가겠다”고 말했다.
