[김현우 기자 = 경기북부] 지난 4월 16일 양주시 회천노인복지관은 ‘초록지킴이봉사단’ 발대식을 복지관 내 강당에서 개최했다고 밝혔다.

‘자연과 함께하는, 초록지킴이 봉사단’의 활동 주제는 총 10명의 선배시민들이 양주시 내의 많은 사람에게 환경보호와 환경인식을 고취시키는 것으로부터 출발한다고 했다.

초록지킴이봉사단은 활동을 진행하는 과정속에서 참여자가 선배시민 및 환경 관련 교육을 통해 공동체에 대해 봉사할 수 있는 능력 및 자립심을 키워 나태함으로부터 탈피할 수 있도록 할 것이라고 했다.

선배시민 자원봉사단(초록지킴이봉사단)은 보건복지부에서 지원하고 한국노인종합복지관협회에서 주최하는 ‘2021년 노인자원봉사 활성화 지원사업’으로 수행기관으로서 선정되어 운영되는 프로그램이라고 했다.

향후 초록지킴이봉사단은 4월부터 11월까지 3개월간 교육 과정을 거친 후 자조 모임을 통해 환경보호 활동 캠페인을 진행할 계획이라고 전했다.
