[김현우 기자 = 경기북부] 지난 6월 18일 양주시 회천노인복지관은 시청자미디어재단에서 지원하는 소외계층 미디어교육사업 프로그램(미소-이음 프로그램)이 2개월간의 과정을 마무리하고 성료했다.

양주시 회천노인복지관은 코로나19 무인·비대면 중심의 디지털 대전환이 가속화됨에 따라, 디지털 비사용자는 일상 속 불편을 넘어 사회구성원으로써의 박탈감 또는 사회 전반에서 배제될 우려가 높아, 고령층을 대상으로 활용역량에 그친 교육이 아닌 멀티미디어와 과련된 컨텐츠 제작을 통해 직접적인 영역에 접근하고자 하였다고 했다.

이번 ‘미소-이음 프로그램’은 총 10회기로 구성되었으며, 방역지침을 준수하여 7명의 자발적 참여자들을 대상으로 다수 국민들과의 디지털 격차를 해소하고 현시대에 맞춰 진행될 수 있도록 PPT를 활용하여 카드뉴스 제작하기를 주제로 교육을 진행하였다고 했다.

한 어르신은 교육을 끝마치며 “낯선 미디어 교육에 처음은 어려웠으나, 배움을 통해 디지털 격차를 줄인 것 같아 기쁘다. 복지관의 다양한 기회제공을 통해 유익한 시간이 되었다.”라고 밝혔다.

이에 주민정 관장은 “앞으로도 어르신들이 행복한 노년 생활을 보내실 수 있도록 변화하는 사회에 맞춰 복지관 사업을 세심하게 살피고 참여, 소통, 나눔이 있는 활력 넘치는 양주시 회천노인복지관이 되도록 노력하겠다.”라고 전하며, 향후에도 양주시 어르신들을 위한 다양한 사업을 진행할 계획임을 밝혔다.
