삼척 기적의 도서관 건립사업은 총사업비 183억 원(국비 38, 도비 17, 시비 128)을 투입해 남양동 113번지 일원에 연면적 3,456㎡, 지하 1층·지상 3층 규모로 도서관을 조성하는 사업이다. 지하 1층에는 보존서고 및 기계실, 지상 1층에는 카페 및 어린이열람실, 지상 2·3층에는 일반자료실, 열람실 및 문화공간 등이 갖춰지며 2024년 개관을 목표로하고 있으며 ,현재 공정률은 25%이다.
