[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 화천군이 전국을 휩쓸고 있는 코로나19 오미크론 광풍 속에서도 관광산업의 활로를 뚫기 위해 사력을 다하고 있다고 밝혔다. 

화천군은 코로나19 오미크론 확산세가 쉽사리 꺾이지 않을 것이라는 판단 아래 지난해에 이어 올해도 지역 식품·공중 위생업소에 키오스크 시스템 보급에 나섰고, 키오스크 시스템은 터치 스크린과 사운드, 그래픽, 통신 등 첨단 멀티미디어 기기를 활용해 음식을 주문하거나, 업소에서 결제를 할 수 있는 비대면 무인 주문결제 단말기라고 했다. 

또 군은 지난해 매출 8,000만원 이하의 영세 숙박업소를 위해 침구류와 수건구입 비용, 위탁 세탁비용 80%를 객실 규모에 비례해 지원할 예정이라고 전했다

코로나19 이후 일상회복 단계를 겨냥한 사업도 준비 중이며, 화천군은 농촌 관광객 유치 선점을 위해 2022년 농촌체험 휴양마을 시설환경 개선사업을 추진한다고 했다.

군은 오는 25일까지 대상마을 3곳을 선정 후 가을철 성수기인 10월 말까지 시설환경 개·보수 사업을 마무리한다는 계획이며, 선정된 마을은 방문객 안전, 편의, 체험시설을 설치하거나 반려동물 시설 구비, 소규모 시설 미화 사업을 진행할 수 있다고 했다. 

화천군은 동시에 지역 관광산업 전체 수준을 한 단계 끌어 올리기 위한 강력한 정책 드라이브를 걸고 있으며, 지난해 북한강 산소길에 인도교인 ‘살랑교’가 가설됐고, 파로호 쾌속 유람선인 ‘평화누리호’가 건조됐고, 전략사업인 파크골프의 경우 올해 18홀이 추가돼 총 54홀 규모로 확대된다고 전했다. 

오는 4월이면, 8년 간 이어온 백암산 평화생태특구사업이 완료돼 국내 최북단인 백암산 케이블카가 관광객을 실어 나르게 된다고 했다.
