[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 12월 22일 포천시와 (재)경기대진테크노파크는 가구 디자인 창작사업 제6기 교육생 수료식 및 작품전시회를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

가구디자인 창작공간 지원사업은 가구의 고장이자 메카인 포천시의 가구산업 경쟁력 강화를 위해 가구관련 예비 전문가를 육성하는 사업으로, 경기도와 함께 2015년부터 경기대진테크노파크에서 운영하고 있으며, 현재까지 가구 관련 취·창업자 66명 배출했고, 가구 산업 전반의 저변 확대 및 일자리 창출에도 크게 기여하고 있으며, 가구 시공 취업을 지원하기 위해 홈 인테리어 일자리 창출 사업도 병행하고 있다고 했다.

이번 수료식에는 심창보 포천시 부시장을 비롯해 양은익 경기대진테크노파크 원장, 김인영 태극나전 대표, 김석범 한국가구아카데미 원장, 디자인그룹넥서스 조훈상 대표, 제6기 가구교육생, 가구 스타트업 등 30여 명이 참석했으며, 제6기 가구 교육 추진 경과보고와 가구 전문가 제6기 교육생 현판 및 우수 교육생 스타트업 표창 수여, 전시작품 관람 등이 진행됐다고 했다.

심창보 포천시 부시장은 “가구특화산업이 안착해 지역경제활성화 도모에 큰 도움이 되고 있다.”라며 “가구창작 디자인 사업을 통해 포천가구산업이 더욱 발전되기를 바란다.”라고 전했다.

한편 포천시는 특화산업 중 하나인 가구산업 지원을 위해 가산면에 도시형 소공인 집적지구 지원사업, 소공인특화지원센터 사업, 가구인증센터 지원, 코펀 가구박람회 지원, 포천시 가구 유통업체 밀집지역 홍보마케팅 지원사 등 국내 가구 관련 인프라를 활발하게 운영·지원하고 있다고 밝혔다.
