[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 12월 19일 양주에는 많은 눈이 내리고 영하의 추운 날씨에 오후 초등학생 5명이 광적면 소재 도락산에서 길을 잃고 내려오지 못하여 17시 32분경 119에 신고, 양주소방서 구조대 및 광적119안전센터, 구급대원들이 합동으로 수색하여 도락산 7부 능선 인근에서 4시간여 길을 잃고 조난당한 5명의 초등학생을 구조했다고 밝혔다.

당시 날이 어둡고 영하의 추운 날씨와 눈보라로 초등학생들의 저체온증이 의심되어 담요, 핫팩 등 보온조치 후 구조대원들이 안전하게 동행, 하산했다고 했다.

이날 영하의 날씨로 인하여 조금만 늦게 발견했으면 초등학생들이 부상을 입을 수 있었지만 신속한 구조활동으로 5명의 초등학생을 안전하게 구조하여 보호자에게 인계했다고 전했다.

박미상 양주소방서장은 “겨울 산행은 일몰전에 하산해야 하고, 낮은 산이라도 안전장비와 몸을 보호할 수 있는 보호장비를 갖출수 있도록 시민들의 안전한 산행을 당부드린다”고 말했다.
