[김현우 기자 = 경기북부] 지난 14일 양주시새마을부녀회는 코로나19로 어려움을 겪고 있는 관내 어려운 이웃들에게 나누어 줄 사랑의 오이지 담그기 사업을 했다고 밝혔다.  

이날 오이지 담그기 사업에는 박흥수 은현면장, 김용춘 새마을운동양주시지회장, 이종용 새마을지도자양주시협의회장, 최태권 새마을문고양주시지부 회장, 방흥식 직장․공장새마을운동양주시협의회 총무, 태영권새마을기자 그리고 관내 11개 읍면동 새마을부녀회장 등 20여 명이 동참하였다고 했다.

오이지 나눔 사업은 새마을부녀회의 대표적인 사업으로 여름철 무더운 날씨에 사람들이 입맛을 잃기 쉬울 때 우리 고유의 전통 밑반찬인 오이 13,000여 개를 담그어 약 보름 가량 숙성시켜서 6월 30일 정도에 숙성된 오이지를 꺼내어 관내 어려운 이웃 100여 가구를 직접 찾아가 전달 할 예정이라고 전했다. 

박순희 회장은 “코로나19로 관내 어르신과 소년소녀 가장들이 더욱 어려움을 겪고 있는 것 같아 조금이나마 이웃을 도울 수 있게 오이지를 담그어 사랑의 마음으로 직접 배달 할 생각을 하니 벌써부터 즐겁고 보람을 느낀다”고 소감을 밝혔다.
