[김현우 기자 = 경기북부] 지난 9일 포천시 영중면지역사회보장협의체는 사랑의 집 만들기 봉사를 실시했다고 밝혔다. 

대상 가구는 홀로 사는 차상위계층 가구로 40년이 지난 지붕 처마 물받이가 낡아 물이 새는 등 열악한 환경에서 생활을 하고 있었다고 했다.

안타까운 사연을 접한 영중면 지역사회보장협의체는 영중의용소방대의 후원으로 집수리에 참여해 지붕 처마 물받이를 교체를 주었다고 했다.

도움을 받은 지원대상자는 “그동안 비가 새는 등 여러모로 불편했는데 이렇게 깔끔하고 꼼꼼히 고쳐 주셔서 감사하다.”고 전했다.

이창수 위원장은 “봉사에 참여할 때마다 기쁘고 보람을 느낀다. 앞으로도 주변에 어려운 이웃을 살피고 도움의 손길을 전할 계획이다.”라고 말했다.

김태성 영중면장은 “복지사각지대에 놓여 있는 취약계층을 위해 도움을 주신 영중면지역사회보장협의체와 영중의용소방대에 감사드리며, 지역사회 복지발전을 위해 최선을 다해 노력하겠다.”라고 말했다.
