[김일웅 기자= 경기북부] 최수천 북부지방산림청장은 지난 18일 지방청 대회의실에서 대학교수 및 민간전문가 10명으로 구성된 제8기 국유림경영관리자문위원 위촉식 및 자문회의를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

제 8기 자문위원들은 "국유림종합계획의 수립 및 성과 분석, 시범림의 조성‧운영에 관한 사항 등 국유림 경영관리를 위해 필요한 모든 사항에 대하여  각 분야별 선발된 전문위원으로부터 해당 안건에 대해 자문을 구하는 자리"라고 설명했다.

이번 자문회의에서는 북부지방산림청과 화성시청이 협력하여 진행하는 공동산림사업 추진을 위하여 ‘화성 도시숲 조성 및 운영계획’에 대한 타당성 심의를 안건으로 회의를 진행하였으며, 테마정원 조성 방안에 대해서 중점적으로 논의했다고 밝혔다.

도시숲 조성은 생활권 주변 국민에게는 보건‧휴양증진 및 정서함양과 체험활동 등을 위하여 조성‧관리하는 산림으로 도심에서 쉽게 접근할 수 있고, 공익적 혜택을 직접적으로 누릴 수 있도록 하고자 조성하는 숲이라고 했다.

최수천 북부지방산림청장은 “도심생활권 국민들에게 숲의 중요성을 인식시키고, 더 많은 국민들에게 혜택이 돌아갈 수 있도록 도시숲이 확충되어야 한다.”라고 밝혔다.
