[김현우 기자 = 경기북부] 경기도가 양주·포천의 숙원인 ‘옥정~포천 광역철도 건설사업’ 추진에 박차를 가한다. 

경기도는 지난 9일 해당 사업의 선행구간인 1공구에 대한 조달 발주를 의뢰했으며, 2024년 착공을 목표로 추진한다고 밝혔다.

이번 사업은 도비 1,818억원, 국비 8,486억원 총사업비 1조 4,874억원의 예산이 투입됐으며, 양주 고읍동에서 포천 군내면을 잇는 총 3공구, 17.1km 구간에 정거장 4개소(양주 1, 포천 3), 차량기지 1개소를 설치한다.

이번에 우선 발주하는 1공구는 양주시 구간으로, 4.93km에 환승정거장 1개소, 본선(철도의 원줄기가 되는 주된 선) 환기구 4개소를 설치할 예정이며, 1공구 발주를 시작으로 3~4주 간격으로 2, 3공구도 순차적으로 발주해, 올 하반기 중 3개 공구 모두 기본설계 평가를 거쳐 실시설계적격자를 선정할 계획이다.
