위원회 위원은 조례에 따라 당연직 8명(포천시 부시장, 각 국·소장, 기획예산담당관)과 포천시의원 2명, 일자리·주거·양육·복지 등 인구정책 분야에 관한 학식과 경험이 풍부한 전문가 10명 등으로 구성했다.

위원들은 앞으로 2년의 임기동안 인구변화에 대한 능동적인 대처와 시민의 삶의 질 향상 등 포천의 지속적인 성장과 발전을 목적으로 심의 및 자문하는 역할을 하게 된다.

이날 인구정책위원회는 위촉직 위원 대상으로 위촉장을 수여하고 회의를 통해 포천시 인구정책을 위한 다양한 의견을 논의했다. 또한 인구보건복지협의회에서 인구감소 문제의 기본적 이해와 인구정책 추진 인식 개선 도모를 위한 ‘인구정책 위원이 갖춰야 할 가치관 형성’에 대한 강의를 진행했다.
