[김준호 기자] 동해시(시장 심규언)는 주민등록 사항과 실제 거주사실 일치여부 등을 정확히 조사해 주민생활의 편익 증진을 도모하고  정확성 제고를 위해 ‘2022년 주민등록 사실조사’를 실시한다고 밝혔다.

특히, 취약계층의 주민등록지 실거주 여부, 복지부 사망의심자로 조회된 자의 생존 여부,  장기결석 및 학령기 미취학아동 등을 중점 조사한다는 방침이다.

이에 시는 10월 23일까지 비대면-디지털 조사, 11월 28일까지 유선·방문조사하여 거주사실 불일치자에게 최고·공고를 통해 알릴 계획이며, 해당 기간 내 재등록 신고가 없으면 주민등록 말소 등 직권조치 할 예정이다.

한편, 거주불명등록자의 재등록을 유도하기 위해 자진 신고하는 자에게는 과태료가 최대 75%까지 경감되는 혜택이 주어지며, 이번 조사는 오는 10월 6일부터 12월 31일까지 86일간 추진된다.

유상포 민원과장은 “전국적으로 동시 실시되는 주민등록 사실조사는  주민행정업무의 효율성을 위해 추진되는 것으로 지역주민의 협조를 부탁드린다”고 당부했다.
