[남상훈 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 7월 22일부터 24일까지 2박 3일간 재단법인 평창평화센터(이하 재단)는 세계 한인대학생 50여명을 초청해 2022 평창 국제 청년 아카데미를 개최한다고 밝혔다.

평창군, 재외동포재단 주최로 열리는 2022 평창 국제 청년 아카데미는 재단,  부산YMCA, 춘천YMCA가 공동 주관하며, 올림픽 유산·사회·문화·역사 체험을 바탕으로 한민족 정체성 확립 및 2018동계올림픽 개최도시 평창을 국제적으로 홍보하고자 추진됐다.

이번 행사는 총 2회 차로 나뉘어 20여개국 100여명의 한인대학생들이 올림픽기념관 방문, 동계스포츠 체험, 올림픽 골든벨, 월정사 및 전나무 숲 둘레길 걷기, 오대산 사고 및 박물관 견학 등 일정을 가질 계획이다.

재단 관계자는“세계 각국에서 온 청년들이 이번 아카데미를 통해 모국의 역사에 대해 알아보고, 지역문화 및 올림픽 유산의 보존·계승 노력을 직간접적으로 경험하는 기회가 되길 바라며, 앞으로 국제 청년들이 참여하는 다양한 동계올림픽 유산사업을 추진해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
