[김준호 기자 =정선군] 정선군(최승준 군수)은 사북공공도서관(관장 황인욱)이 문화체육관광부에서 실시한 2022년 전국 도서관 운영 평가에서 특별상을 수상했다고 밝혔다.

군 단위의 규모가 작은 도서관인 사북공공도서관은 공동체의 기억을 복원하는 작업 등 정성평가에서는 전체 평균 60.1을 크게 뛰어넘는 80.8이라는 높은 점수를 받았으며, 세부항목에서 공간의 혁신성 평가에서는 1위, 미래를 여는 도서관 평가에서는 2위를 차지했다. 

문체부는 지난 2008년부터 도서관 운영 우수사례를 발굴하여 도서관의 성장과 발전을 도모하고자 전국 도서관을 대상으로 운영 상황을 평가하고 있다.

올해 평가에는 도서관 학계와 현장 전문가 등 평가위원 총 34명이 정량･정성평가를 진행했고, 현장실사와 최종 심의를 거쳐 우수도서관을 선정했다. 

특별상 5개관 등 올해 우수도서관은 표창장과 상금, 우수도서관 현판을 받는다.

지난 2020년 대대적인 리모델링을 통해 재탄생한 사북공공도서관은 ”주민의 성장을 돕는 도서관“을 모토로 조직·공간·서비스를 혁신하여 지역의 활력과 정보문화 수준을 높였다고 평가받고 있다. 

특히 ”기억을 보듬는 도서관“이라는 이름으로 3년째 진행하고 있는 <광산촌 공동체의 기억> 구술사 책자 발간과 지역테마자료관 구축 등 지역사 조사 수집 정리 작업은 도서관을 넘어 국사편찬위원회, 구술사학회 등 학계에서도 큰 반향과 호평을 받고 있다.  

황인욱 사북공공도서관장은“광산업과 주민운동의 역사적 자산을 간직한 지역특화도서관으로서 지방소멸 위험에 맞서 도서관을 지역사회의 정보문화 확산과 주민 활력 거점으로 성장시키기 위해 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
