[안종욱 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 가평군 도서관은 5월 12일부터 ‘구독형 전자책 서비스’를 제공할 계획이라고 전했다.

가평군 도서관 전자책은 기존에 운영하던 소장형과 새로이 도입되는 구독형 두 가지 방식으로 제공될 것이라고 했다.

이번에 제공되는 구독형 전자책은 유통업체가 보유하고 있는 6만 여권의 도서와 매월 업데이트 되는 1,500여권의 신간도서를 이용할 수 있게 된다고 했다.

소장형 전자책은 일정량의 전자책을 도서관에서 구매하여 제공하는 형식이며, 구독형 전자책은 유통업체로부터 전자책을 임대하여 이용자들에게 제공하는 형식이며, 구독형 전자책의 가장 큰 장점은 인원 제한 없이 베스트셀러 등 인기 도서를 예약을 하거나 기다릴 필요 없이 PC, 태블릿, 스마트폰 등으로 바로 이용할 수 있다는 점이라고 전했다.

이 서비스의 이용은 가평군 도서관 회원증을 소지한 정회원이면 누구나 가평군 도서관 홈페이지 전자도서관에서 매월 10권의 도서를 14일간 자유롭게 대출·구독할 수 있다고 했다.  

가평군 도서관 관계자는 “앞으로도 포스트 코로나 시대를 살아갈 현대인들에게 맞는 온라인 독서환경 조성을 위해 전자도서관 서비스를 확대해 나가겠다.”고 밝혔다.
