[남상훈 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 오는 14일 강릉시는 많은 시민들이 책을 쉽게 접할 수 있도록 가까운 마트 등에서 책을 대여하고 반납할 수 있는 무인 스마트도서관을 개관한다고 전했다.

무인 스마트도서관은 하나로마트 교동점, 하나로마트 성덕점, 이마트 및 홈플러스 총 4곳에 설치되었으며, 강릉시립도서관 회원가입 후 도서회원증을 발급받은 경우 이용이 가능하다고 했다.

각 도서관에는 베스트셀러 등 신간 도서 400여 권을 비치하였고 1인당 5권 이내, 10일간 도서대출이 가능하며(연장 10일 가능), 비치된 도서는 시립도서관 홈페이지에서 도서 정보와 대출 상황을 확인할 수 있다고 했다.

강릉시립도서관에 있는 도서도 스마트도서관으로 예약하면 받아볼 수 있는 상호대차서비스도 가능하며, 다른 도서관 대출 도서의 반납도 가능하다고 했다.

강릉시 관계자는 “스마트도서관은 가까운 마트 등에서 책을 빌릴 수 있어 시민들에게 큰 호응을 얻을 것으로 기대하고 있다.” 며 “앞으로도 강릉시 독서문화 활성화를 위해 최선을 다하겠다.” 고 밝혔다.
