[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 24일, 김덕만 전 국민권익위원회 대변인은 국민의힘 소속으로 6.1지방선거 강원도의회 의원선거 '홍천군 제2선거구, 화촌면·영귀미면·남면·서면·두촌면·내촌면·서석면·내면'에 출마하기 위해 홍천군선거관리위원회에 예비후보 등록을 마쳤다고 밝혔다.

내면 광원3리 태생인 김덕만 박사는 원당초(7회) 내면중학교(19회)를 졸업한 후 내면농협 청소부를 비롯해 다양한 잡일을 하면서 고졸검정고시를 거쳐 연세대문리대 영문과(학사) 런던시티대(석사) 한국외국어대(정치학박사)를 졸업한 자수성가형 인물이라고 했다.

김 박사는 사회 초년시절 강원권에서 지방공무원과 국가공무원 경찰(순경) 등을 거쳐 대학을 마친 후 매일경제신문 헤럴드경제신문 등에서 언론인으로 16년간 일했으며 다시 부패방지위원회 국가청렴위원회 국민권익위원회 등에 공채로 입문해 7년여간 부패방지 및 고충처리 정책 직무를 수행해왔다. 이외에도 서울시강동구도시정책연구원 연구위원, 한국철도시설공단이사, 한국교통대 산학협력단 교수, 농식품부 산하 귀농귀촌종합센터장 등 10 여종의 다양한 공직경력을 가지고 있다고 전했다.

김 박사는 “기회가 온다면 귀농귀촌업무 경험을 살려 도시민의 인구유치와 더불어 권익위 재직경력을 바탕으로 농업농촌의 불편함과 억울함을 해소하는데 노력함은 물론, 멀티미디어기술사 자격을 활용해 농촌의 디지털격차 해소에도 힘쓰겠다”고 전했다.
