[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 오는 4월 1일부터 4월 30일까지 춘천시정부가 지역 내 사육중인 개를 대상으로 광견병 예방접종을 무료로 실시한다고 밝혔다.

이를 통해 광견병 발생을 예방하고 동물과 함께 행복한 도시를 구현할 방침이며, 올해 사업량은 5,000마리며 상·하반기 나눠서 진행한다고 했다.

접종 방법은 견주가 동물병원을 방문해 예방접종을 무료로 받으면 시정부는 동물병원에 시술비를 지급하며, 광견병 백신과 시술비는 시정부에서 지원하고 그 외 진료는 견주 부담이라고 했다. 

광견병 예방접종 사업참여 동물병원은 14개소이며, 임신을 했거나 3개월 미만 강아지 등은 접종에서 제외된다고 전했다.
