[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 오는 1월 17일부터 포천시는 미세먼지 저감과 함께 어린이 건강을 보호하기 위해 ‘어린이 통학차량 LPG차 전환지원 사업’을 추진한다고 밝혔다.

올해 사업량은 모두 20대로 1대당 700만 원을 선착순으로 지원하며, 예산이 소진될 때까지 순서대로 선정해 보조금을 지급할 계획이라고 했다.

지원대상은 보유하고 있던 경유차를 폐차하면서 어린이 통학차량으로 사용하기 위해 중형 승용·승합 LPG 신차를 구입하는 어린이통학버스 신고자 또는 신고 예정자로 특례조항에 따라 올해 말까지 폐차 여부와 관계없이 LPG 어린이 통학차량 신차를 구입하기 위해 보조금을 신청하는 경우도 지원 가능하고, 단 차량 소유주는 신고필증상 주소지가 포천시로 등록돼 있어야 한다고 전했다.

신청은 포천시 홈페이지 고시공고란에 있는 신청서를 내려받아 작성하여 포천시 친환경정책과로 방문하거나 우편으로 제출 또는 환경부의 자동차 배출가스 등급제 누리집에서 신청하면 된다고 했다.

포천시 관계자는 “미세먼지 저감뿐만 아니라 어린이의 건강을 보호하기 위한 사업으로 유치원, 체육시설 등 많은 신청 바란다.”면서 “시민들에게 쾌적한 대기환경을 제공할 수 있도록 5등급 경유차를 폐차하는 경우 조기폐차 보조금과 신차보조금을 함께 지급하고 있으니 많은 신청을 바란다.”라고 전했다. 

포천시는 어린이 통학차량 LPG차 전환 지원사업으로 2018년부터 2021년까지 3억 4,400만 원으로 총 56대의 LPG차를 지원한 바 있다고 밝혔다.
