[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 12월 6일, 전통사찰 제15호로 지정된 횡성 보광사 경내 보수정비사업이 준공되었다고 밝혔다.

군은 지역 내 소중한 문화유산인 보광사를 전면적으로 정비하기 위해 지난 5월부터 이번 사업을 추진하였고, 이에 따라, 경내 노후화된 자연석 계단 및 축대에 대해 전통 양식에 걸맞은 보수공사가 실시되었고 오층석탑이 새로이 건립되었으며, 특히 이번에 건립된 오층석탑은 현대의 창작성이 반영된 독특한 양식으로, 인도에서 직접 부처님의 진신사리를 모셔와 탑신부 내 봉안하였다고 전했다.

장유진 문화체육과장은 “전통사찰로서의 위상을 공고히 하고 사찰 방문객의 편의를 증진시키기 위해 앞으로도 다양한 사업을 추진해나갈 예정이다.”라고 말했다.
