[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 12월 24일 포천시는 시청 시정회의실에서 ‘2021년도 공동주택 대상 음식물쓰레기 감량경진대회 시상식’을 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이번 음식물쓰레기 감량경진대회는 주민참여를 통해 음식물발생량을 줄이고자 추진한 사업으로, 감량 측정값을 객관적으로 증명할 수 있는 RFID방식의 음식물쓰레기 개별계량장비를 사용중인 62개 공동주택을 대상으로 전년도 대비 감량성과가 높은 공동주택을 선정해 시상했다고 전했다.

이날 수상을 한 공동주택은 A그룹(200세대 이상)의 최우수상 산호아파트, 우수상 우정아파트, 장려상 태봉마을아파트와 신포천아파트 등 4곳과 B그룹(200세대 미만)의, 최우수상 리버아파트, 우수상 일우테라스1차 아파트, 장려상 골든고층아파트 등 3곳이라고 했다.

시상식에는 각 공동주택별로 주민대표와 관리소장이 참석했으며, 수상을 한 공동주택은 시소유의 생활쓰레기 수거물품을 지원받게 된다고 했다.

박윤국 포천시장은 “코로나19로 생활쓰레기가 큰폭으로 상승하였으나 음식물쓰레기 만큼은 주민분들의 참여로 감량하는 성과를 얻었다.”라며 “앞으로도 다회용기 및 에코백 사용 등 생활속에서 실천할 수 있는 환경운동을 적극 추진해 쓰레기 처리비용 절감과 환경보호에 앞장서겠다.“라고 전했다.
