[안종욱 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 21일, 비영리사회단체 한국희망캠프는 관내 연탄을 사용하고 있는 어려운 가정을 선정하여 연탄 1,500장을 기탁하기 위해 가평읍 행정복지센터를 방문했다고 밝혔다. 

한국뉴스타임 국장이며 한국희망캠프를 이끌고 있는 이명수 이사장은 “코로나 여파로 인한 경제적 어려움과 추운 날씨 속에 힘겨운 이웃들의 고충을 알기에 연탄을 제공하여 몸과 마음을 녹일 수 있는 따뜻함을 선물하고 싶었다. 추위로 인한 근심을 잊고, 희망을 안고 잘 이겨내길 바란다.” 라고 소감을 전했다.

이에 장동선 가평읍장은 “어려운 이웃들이 겨울이 되면 가장 걱정하는 것이 난방인데 연탄을 받는다는 소식에 너무 반갑고 기쁠 것이다. 그들을 대신하여 감사의 인사를 전한다. 한국뉴스타임이 지역 언론으로서 사회적 약자를 대변하는 역할을 담당하고 있어 지역민의 의지가 되고 있으며  주민의 어려움을 돌보는 자원봉사의 역할까지 맡아주고 있어 든든하다. 계속 지역을 위해 힘써주길 바란다.”라며 감사의 말로 답했다. 

이날 기탁된 성품은 관내 연탄이 필요한 저소득층 5가구에 소중하게 전달될 예정이라고 했다.
