[김현우 기자 = 경기북부] 양주시 회천2동은 재활용가능자원의 올바른 분리배출 촉진 및 배출자 중심의 자원순환 문화 확산을 위해 매월 셋째주 월요일을 ‘재활용품 모아모아, 환경개선 More & More Day’로 지정하고 환경보전 실천에 박차를 가한다고 밝혔다.

‘재활용품 모아모아, 환경개선 More & More Day’는 지난 2월부터 시행한 재활용품 보상교환 사업의 일환으로 주민이 보다 많은 재활용품을 배출할 수 있도록 배출자 중심의 재활용 보상 정책을 펼치기 위해 마련했다고 전했다. 

6월 ‘재활용품 모아모아, 환경개선 More & More Day’는 오는 21일 오전 9시부터 12시까지 행정복지센터 1층에서 진행하며 대상 품목은 폐건전지 및 우유팩, 플라스틱 용기(테이크아웃컵 포함) 및 투명 PET병, 알루미늄캔, 아이스팩 등 총 6개 품목이라고 했다. 

회천2동은 이날 배출되는 재활용품에 대하여 보상 물품을 2배로 지급하는 등 재활용품 수거율 제고에 매진할 계획이라고 전했다. 

아울러 생활쓰레기의 올바른 분리배출을 유도하고 재활용품 수거에 대한 주민 참여를 적극 독려하기 위해 통장 등 마을대표와 함께 환경캠페인도 함께 진행할 예정이고, 기타 자세한 사항은 회천2동 행정복지센터로 문의하면 안내받을 수 있다고 했다.

홍미영 동장은 “이번 재활용품 모아모아, 환경개선 More & More Day는 지역 주민들에게 적극적인 인센티브를 제공을 통해 재활용품 수거율 향상 및 재활용 참여 확대를 도모하고자 준비했다”며 “환경오염의 위험성이 큰 재활용품에 대한 집중 수거가 어느 때보다 중요한 만큼 앞으로도 배출자 중심의 재활용 활성화 정책을 적극 추진해 지역주민의 재활용 참여 확산에 기여하고 싶다”고 말했다.
