[김준호 기자 = 동해시] 동해시(시장 심규언)가 오는 9월 9일부터 9월 12일까지 추석 연휴기간 동안 산불방지 대책본부를 운영한다. 올해 8월∼9월 여름철 호우와 도내 잦은 강우로 인해 산불 위험이 낮아진 상황이지만, 추석을 전후해 벌초․성묘․등산객 등 입산객 증가로 산불발생 위험이 다소 높아질 것으로 전망되고 있다.

특히, 사회적 거리두기 해제 후 가족들과 함께 산을 찾는 입산객이 많을 것으로 예상됨에 따라, 담뱃불 등 불씨취급 부주의로 인한 산불이 발생할 수 있어 주의가 필요한 상황이다.

이에, 시는 산불방지대책본부 상황실을 운영하고, 산불발생시 상황관리를 위해 신속한 현장확인 및 초기진화 대응을 위해 소방서, 경찰서, 국유림관리소 등 유관기관과의 공조체계를 유지하고, 효율적인 진화활동을 위해 진화헬기 투입 등 초동진화 체계에 중점을 두고 운영할 계획이다.
