[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 4월 22일, 을지대학교 간호대학은 의정부을지대학교병원 일현홀에서 ‘제32회 나이팅게일 선서식’을 열었다고 밝혔다. 

선서식에는 박준영 을지재단 회장을 비롯해 홍성희 을지대학교 총장, 김관복 부총장 임숙빈 간호대학장 등이 참석해 학생들을 축하했다고 전했다.   

이날 선서식에서 간호대학 3학년 학생 163명은 나이팅게일 선서와 촛불의식을 통해 나이팅게일의 숭고한 정신을 되새기는 시간을 가졌고, 더불어 미래 간호인으로서 생명을 위해 책임과 의무를 다할 것을 다짐했다고 전했다.

홍성희 총장은 학생들에게 “나이팅게일 선서식은 일생을 환자에게 헌신하겠다는 각오를 다지고, 전문 간호인으로 나아가는 첫발을 내딛는 의미를 갖고 있다”며 “환자의 아픈 마음마저 안아줄 수 있는 가슴 따뜻한 간호사로 성장해 주기 바란다”고 당부했다.

임숙빈 간호대학장은 “건강을 지키는 유용한 간호인으로, 또한 선한 영향력을 퍼뜨리는 좋은 사람으로 성장하라”고 격려했다.

한편 을지대학교 간호대학은 첫 졸업생을 배출한 지난 2002년부터 현재까지 21년 연속 간호사 국가시험에 100% 전원 합격이라는 대기록을 이어나가고 있다고 했다.
