[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 의정부을지대학교병원은 제2대 의정부을지대학교병원장으로 김병식 외과 교수가 취임한다고 밝혔다. 

김병식 신임 원장은 서울대학교 의과대학을 졸업하고 동대학원에서 석·박사 학위를 취득했으며, 이어 울산대학교 의과대학 외과 교수를 시작으로 서울아산병원 교육부원장, 외과 과장 등을 역임했고, 올해 초부터 을지대학교의료원 의료원장으로 재직해왔다고 했다.

위장관외과분야에서 명성이 높은 김 원장은 위암수술 전문으로 세계 최다 복강경 위암수술례 기록을 보유하고 있으며, 대한위암학회 회장을 비롯, 세계비만대사외과학회, 세계위암학회, 대한외과학회, 대한복강경위장관연구회, 대한종양외과학회 등 다양한 대외활동 및 연구를 통해 글로벌 의료 성장을 견인해 왔다고 했다.

내년 1월 1일부터 윤병우 초대 원장은 을지대학교 의무부총장 및 을지대학교의료원장을 맡게 되고, 이·취임식은 오는 1월 3일 오전 8시 병원 일현홀에서 방역 지침에 따라 간소하게 진행될 예정이라고 전했다.
