[안종욱 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 3월 30일. 가평군사회복지사협회는 군민의 삶의 질 향상을 위해 노력하고 있는 사회복지사들의 노고를 격려하기 위해 뮤직빌리지 음악역1939에서 ‘제3회 가평군 사회복지사의 날 기념식’을 가졌다고 밝혔다.

이 날 행사에는 김성기 가평군수를 대신하여 조규관 행정복지국장, 배영식 군의회의장, 육도수 가평군사회복지사협회장 등이 참석한 가운데 유공자 표창, 기념사, 축사 순으로 진행되었고, 유공자 표창은 가평꽃동네 정신요양원 이주석, 백둔리 상신노인전문요양원 김관중 원장이 군수 표창, 하누리재가복지센터 엄경옥, 가평군사회복지사협회 박재현 사무국장이 군의장상, 대한노인회 가평군지회 소수경 부장이 경기도사회복지사협회장상 수상의 영예를 안았다고 전했다. 

사회복지사의 날은 지난 2011년 3월 30일 '사회복지사 등의 처우 및 지위 향상을 위한 법률' 제정한 것을 계기로 사회복지사의 자긍심을 고취하고 격려하기 위해 매년 3월 30일은 ‘사회복지사의 날’로 정하여 기념하고 있다고 했다. 

가평군에서는 지난 2018년 가평군사회복지사협회에서 기념식을 처음 개최한 것을 시작으로 2019년까지 기념식을 진행했으나 코로나19 인하여 이후 2년간은 개최하지 못하다 올해 협회임원과 유공자들만 참여한 가운데 소규모로 기념식을 개최하였다고 전했다.  

조규관 행정복지국장은 "코로나 19로 인해 어려운 상황 속에서도 기념행사를 준비해 주신 가평군사회복지사협회장을 비롯한 관계자에게 감사 인사와 표창수상자에게 축하 인사를 전하며 선별적 복지에서 보편적 복지로 나아가는데 투철한 사명감을 갖고 앞장서고 있는 사회복지사들의 노고"를 격려하였다고 했다.
