[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 강릉시는 학교 급식이 없는 겨울방학 동안 결식이 우려되는 아동에게 급식비를 지원한다고 밝혔다.

지원대상은 결식 우려가 있는 기초생활수급 및 차상위계층, 기준중위소득 52% 이하 가구의 아동과 한부모가족 지원법에 따른 보호대상 아동 등이라고 했다. 

단기소득 기준을 초과하더라도 가정 해체나 코로나19 장기화 등으로 결식이 우려되면 담임교사, 통장, 담당 공무원 등의 추천을 통해 지원받을 수 있다고 했다.

강릉시는 학교별 방학기간이 다른 점을 고려하여 1~2월을 방학 기간으로 설정하여 2개월간 하루 1식 7,000원을 아동급식카드에 충전하여 급식비를 지원한다고 전했다. 

아동급식카드는 가맹점으로 등록된 일반음식점, 마트 또는 편의점에서 사용할 수 있다. 또한 지역아동센터를 이용하는 아동의 경우 단체급식을 이용하여 급식을 지원받을 수 있다고 했다.

급식비 지원은 읍면동 주민센터를 통해 상시로 신청을 받으며, 기존에 급식지원을 받은 아동들은 별도 신청이 없어도 지원이 이뤄진다고 했다.

강릉시 관계자는“결식아동의 급식 공백 해소를 통해 아동복지를 실현하여, 아이들이 따뜻한 겨울을 보내도록 노력할 예정”이라고 말했다.
