합동설계단은 읍면동 토목담당과 각부서 신규직원 등으로 구성됐으며, 마을안길 재포장, 구거 정비, 배수로 정비 등 137건과 39억원의 소규모시설 정비에 대해 자체설계를 진행한다고 했다.

포천시는 이번 합동설계를 통해 설계용역비 2억 6천만원의 절감과 관내 생산 자재 사용, 해빙기 도래 시 즉시 공사 착수 등으로 침체된 지역경제를 되살리는 데 보탬이 될 것으로 전망하고 있고, 또한 신규 공무원을 자체설계에 참여시켜 선배 공무원들의 실무경험 등을 전수하고 직무역량을 강화할 계획이라고 전했다.

포천시 관계자는 “현장조사 시 주민의견을 충분히 수렴하여 설계를 추진하고 관내 생산 자재를 적극 반영해 조기에 사업이 추진될 수 있도록 노력하겠다.”라고 밝혔다.
