[김현우 기자 = 포천] 포천시는 지난 14일 포천여성회관에서 제43회 포천시 장애인의 날 기념행사를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

포천시가 주관한 이번 기념행사에는 백영현 포천시장, 서과석 포천시의회의장, 최춘식 국회의원을 비롯해 장애인단체장 및 기관장, 모범 장애인과 장애인 가족, 장애인복지증진 기여자 등 150여 명이 참석했다.

이날 기념행사는 바이올린 식전공연을 시작으로 장애인 인권헌장 낭독, 모범 장애인과 장애인복지유공자에 대한 표창 시상, 기념사, 내빈 축사와 포천시 홍보대사 축하공연으로 진행됐다.

수상자는 장애라는 어려움에도 바르게 성장해 귀감이 되는 4명의 모범 청소년, 적극적인 사회참여와 부단한 노력으로 자립을 실현하며 장애에 대한 인식을 개선한 16명의 모범 장 애인, 일선의 현장업무 담당자 및 봉사자로 책임감과 사명감으로 장애인 복지증진에 기여한 14명의 장애인복지 유공자 등 총 34명이다.

백영현 포천시장은 “제43회 장애인의 날을 축하드리며, 모범 장애인과 장애인복지 유공자에 대한 감사와 존경의 마음을 전한다”며, “오늘 행사에 오신 분들 덕분에 장애 앞에 놓인 벽은 더 낮아지고, 우리 사회의 인권수준은 높아지고 있다. 민선8기 포천시도 장애인과 비장애인이 함께 행복한 도시를 만들어 나가기 위해 최선의 노력을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
