[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 양양군이 동절기 안정적인 수돗물 공급을 위한 종합대책을 추진한다고 밝혔다.

양양군은 겨울철 한파로 인한 상수도 결빙을 예방하고, 가뭄과 시설 동파에 따른 수돗물 부족과 급수 불편을 최소화하기 위해 오는 12월 1일부터 내년 2월 28일까지 3개월간을 ‘동절기 상수도 급수 집중관리기간’으로 정했다고 전했다.

먼저 양양․오색정수장과 배수지 9개소, 마을상수도 등 소규모수도시설 31개소, 수도계량기 10,674전, 350km의 상수관로 등 급수시설의 취․송수펌프와 예비모터 작동상태를 사전 점검해 결빙․가뭄에 따른 수량부족에 선제적으로 대응한다고 했다.

이와 함께 소방서 및 경찰서, 군부대 등 유관기관의 협조를 받아 비상대책상황실을 운영하며, 긴급복구반과 비상급수반을 편성하여 긴급복구반은 시설복구 인력․장비 동원을, 비상급수반은 수도공무소와 함께 상황별 급수대책을 추진한다고 했다.

계량기 동파 예방을 위한 주민 홍보도 강화되며, 수도검침원을 대상으로 동파예방 관리교육을 실시해 검침 시 주민에게 전파하고, 동파대비 국민행동요령 3,000매를 제작해 각 가구에 배포할 예정이라고 했다.

동파 방지를 위해서는 수도계량기 보호함 내부는 헌옷으로 채우고 외부는 테이프로 밀폐시켜 찬 공기가 유입되지 않도록 해야 하는데, 복도식아파트의 경우 동파사고 발생이 잦기 때문에 특별히 유념해야 한다고 했다.
