[안종욱 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 북면 백둔리에서 사과농사를 하고 있는 이상용씨는 북면 내 아이들을 위하여 직접 생산한 사과(5kg) 30박스를 기탁하여 이웃사랑을 실천했다고 밝혔다. 

2020년 출생신고 10건, 사망신고 38건, 2021년 10월 현재 출생 12건, 사망 40건으로 사망건수가 출생 대비 3배가량 많은 북면 관내의 귀한 아이들은 이번 백둔리 연인산촌농원에서 정성을 들여 생산한 사과를 만나게 된 것이며, 후원한 사과를 만나 아이들은 건강하게 성장하고, 후원자의 마음은 따뜻한 온기를 실어 나를 것이라고 했다.

사과를 기탁하게 된 동기를 묻자 이상용 씨는 “아이들을 부부가 많이 좋아하는데 코로나 사태로 등·하교에 어려움을 겪고 있는 아이들을 위하여 조금이나마 건강하게 자라기를 바라는 마음을 담아 기탁하게 되었다”고 말하여 지역 내 선한 영향력을 전파하였다.

이에 이해곤 북면장은 “지역 내 아이들을 위해 우리 이웃사랑을 실천하시는 것에 대해 감사드리며, 우리지역 아이들이 어려움을 겪고 있지 않은지 더욱 세심하게 살피겠다”고 말하였다.
